Big Bear Valley Historical Society
The Historical Society will
meet at the Discovery Center, Thursday May 14th, at 7:00 P.M.
A long-time Big Bear Valley Historical Society member,
Bill Lembright, of Lucerne Valley, will give a special presentation. Bill, a
frequent explorer of the Mojave Desert, recently visited some beautiful
wildflower growth in the desert, as well as he visited several old deserted
home sites.
An opportunity drawing for unique prizes will be
offered during the meeting. Guests are welcome to join the BVHS members for the
informative program and the fellowship with refreshments. There is no cost for
the general meeting but membership is available upon request.
The Discovery Center is located on North Shore
Drive in Fawnskin.

A Mojave Desert Field Trip is planned Friday May 15th for Big
Bear Valley Historical Society members. Bill Lembright will accompany the tour
group to festinating Mojave Desert locations.
Those planning to go on the field trip should
bring a sack lunch, water and be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. The
tour group will meet at 8:30 A.M.
at the Big Bear Museum parking lot, located at 800 Greenway, Big Bear City to
carpool to the desert. Because of the rugged terrain, only high-clearance 4-WD
vehicles should be driven. The group will return late Friday afternoon.
