San
Bernardino County Sheriff /Rancho Cucamonga Police are
searching for the attempted kidnapping of a nine year old girl. At
approximately 5:24 P.M., in her own neighborhood
the young girl was picking flowers and playing in the greenbelt area of
Tanglewood Court and Bear Creek Avenue, the afternoon of Thursday, September
13, 2018.
Rancho Cucamonga Police Detectives are seeking
information regarding the Thursday afternoon incident. It is very possible there are eye-witnesses to
the nine year old being grabbed by her wrist and led away
from the area towards the community pool.
Later the girl told the Detectives, that the
suspect let go of her after becoming startled and fled the area. The victim ran
to a neighbor’s home who called 9-1-1.
The suspected kidnapper was described was dressed in all
black and wearing a ski mask. A playmate
looking for the young girl slammed a door, that seemed to frighten the suspect
when he ran.
Currently a thorough search of the area immediately was
conducted by the Rancho Cucamonga Police Detectives and a San Bernardino County Sheriff helicopter for the suspect.
However, he was not located, therefore, the investigation is ongoing.
